Today is our Wedding Anniversary!

Nine years ago Marc and I were married in New Orleans, it was perfect! I wore a beautiful Monique Lhuillier wedding gown in a soft ivory it was embellished with hundreds of tiny crystals around the waist, low back and a small train, it was a dream to wear. 

We were married in the Napoleon House, one of the oldest buildings in New Orleans. The morning of the wedding we purchased arm loads of fresh flowers from vendors in the French Market to decorate the amazing room.  There were 100 year old crystal chandeliers which made the room sparkle, an oversized fireplace, which we filled with dozens of white candles, gave a warm glow. We opened the floor to ceiling shudders onto the French Quarter where the music and merriment below, floated up into the room as we said our beautiful vows to one another.  It was dreamy!

Tonight we are off to celebrate nine beautiful years together!

Silver Peony - New Pantone Color for 2011

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying the holidays! I have been off work (my day job) for a little over a week, and have enjoyed hanging out with Olivia, making Christmas crafts and eating WAY too much! 

During my reprieve from my 9-5, I decided to infuse some new life into my blog - I hope you like it! Also, I have been sketching and designing away, and in the process I fell in love with one of the new Pantone Colors for 2011, Silver Peony. Are you surprised? Inspired by this beautiful blush pink, I created these lovely little black mules, adorned with flowers, baubles and bows. 

 

I think they are fun little patterns - don't you? Now, stay tuned, I plan on getting out of my "pink comfort" zone in 2011 and working with other colors - gasp!

Now, a few fun things are in store for this week; tomorrow is my anniversary and I plan on sharing some of my wedding photos from 9 years ago. Then, on Friday, I will be a guest blogger for Lanalou Style (a sparkling post you won't want to miss).
