I know it very obvious that I am all about glamour and everything that falls into the "swanky-girly" category. However, it is a very little known fact that I can create designs for those who prefer a little less glam & swank. Case in point. Design personal stationery for a gentleman who prefers clean, tailored lines. It was very evident that I must steer clear of the usual suspects for my design choices.
Challenge on!
Sailboats, speedboats, private yachts and beautifully tailored menswear {the models were not too shabby either}. The perfect place to start.
I selected a beautiful 110 lb crisp white Classic Crest card stock inspired by the clean white sails of a luxury sail boat. The high shine of an inlaid wooden navigational panel, sparked the idea to create the little stripe of wood detail on the card. Finally, the tiny dashes set below the wooden stripe were inspired by the tailoring of the menswear. I also created a 2 x 2 square return address label which reflects all the elements above along with a nicely tailored monogram.
Not a hint of pink! Can you believe it?
After jumping in with both feet, I really loved how these turned out! What do you think?
