The materials are beautiful - a white paper box, yellow and white handmade flowers, a vintage necklace with white glass beads that I picked up for $3.00 in a thrift shop, silver tipped vintage stamens to hold the flowers & beads together, finished with a yellow polka dot ribbon.
Open the box and surprise! More little flowers, a bright modern font to tie everything together.
This was one of those projects that I became completely obsessed in creating. The search for all the little vintage finds, taking apart the necklace and then trying to figure out how I was going to make the paper flowers and give them a three-demensional look.
So are you wondering how I made such perfect little blossoms?
I just recently purchased a Silhouette SD machine which comes with a library of designs to use with a PC. However, I have a MAC and I wanted to be able to use my designs - luckily they have a plugin for MAC to use with Adobe Illustrator. So I downloaded the plugin, hooked the Silhouette SD to my computer, drew the flower, sent it to be cut and voila`. Okay, it really wasn't that easy, I spent an entire Saturday trying to figure it out, but I think it was worth it, don't you?
