Well after a long night of trying to stay awake for the Oscars, I am moving slow this Monday. And now that winter break is officially over, my little one is back in school. She left this morning with here big project in hand (she is star of the week) and bubbling over with excitement.

Vintage Fashion Friday - Oh My!

This week has been the craziest week!  For the last 10 days I have been managing the energy of my snack crazed, begging for TV six year old. Ahhhhh.... "Winter Break". Moms all over Ann Arbor are trying to book play dates, work on crazy school projects, go to the movies, take trips, and keep their kids out of the snack drawer. Hence, my random blogging schedule. {why isn't there a winter break for moms?} 

To end this frenetic week, I wanted to find something that was happy & sunny for Vintage Fashion Friday. I think this 1959 photo from the March issue of Charmed Magazine is so wonderful! I love the giant polka dots, the cute ribbon trimmed hat and smart gloves.

I have a thing for fabulous closets...

...maybe because mine is , well how should I put it, less than fabulous. I'm ashamed to admit it, but it is true. As someone who all about being fabulous, writing blog posts about fabulous fashion and design I do not have a fabulous closet.  There, I said it, no more hiding behind my cute little blog, the truth is out - my closet is a disaster. So, hence my curiosity.

 

Maybe by featuring a fabulous closet every now and then may inspire me to take action - like pick up my shoes and put them on the shoe rack.  Of course, I'm sure if I had shoe "display"  like this, I would be much more motivated.

Who doesn't love babies?

Sometime in the late spring/early summer,  I will be launching my new line of paper goodies which will include the usual suspects - invitations, stationery, announcements, notes, party favors, tags, labels and more.  

Here is a little glimpse at one style of my baby announcements which you will be able to customize with all the important details.

There will be a lovely blend of my original illustrations,  fun patterns and a little vintage thrown in for good measure. 

I hope to have the big reveal sometime in June.

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching I have been pondering what type of romantic drinkie-poo would be unique, beautiful and of course yummy. Well my dear readers, after searching and searching I give you the most glamorous (and I assume yummy) rose martini - perfect down to the little floating rose petal garnish. 

 

After perusing the ingredients and feasting my eyes on this blushing beauty, I then decided I must gather all the ingredients and have a taste of this exquisite elixir.

Hello Monday!

 

Another weekend of snow, snow & more snow. But, I didn't let that stop me. The sun was shining on Friday, so I decided to bundle up and face the elements. I went for a nice long walk in my neighborhood-away from my computer and away from my cell phone.

On my lovely, sunny winter walk my mind started wandering.. (now,  you are probably thinking that all that fresh winter air led to an incredible flash of inspiration, which had me rushing home to create something fabulous) Not really, but, it did get me thinking about those new walking shoes that tone and tighten your butt - hmmmm - could they really work. Anyone know? 

The rest of my weekend was a lovely mix of friends, a birthday party, a little football (I'm in it for the commercials and junk food) and more snow.

Vintage Fashion Friday-Always Mod Marimekko

Happy Friday everyone!

A little mix for today. Vintage Marimekko, circa 1965, and a preview video of the 2011 Spring Summer collection. I love, love, love the black & white geometric designs, the fun tights & bold colors. The silhouettes look chic and comfy.  Spring! Hurry! I really can't wait much longer...
